After a fairly long stretch on this lovely little island - it's finally time for an escape weekend!! Marsha and I head from Boston tomorrow for a weekend of shopping, eating, spa treatments, Broadway . . . and more shopping!!! I can't wait! Sounds like the first thing on my shopping list will be a Bella Band so I can keep wearing some of my normal clothes as long as possible before I have to start with the maternity clothes.
I am now feeling better than ever which I'm so thrilled about. Until just a few days ago I was still struggling in the evenings in that I just had no appetite and thinking of food still made my stomach turn. Poor Joel just could never seem to suggest anything that agreed with me as hard as he tried! The one thing I really seem to have been craving is sushi - which is a frustrating craving to have considering I can't eat any raw fish!! Anyway - I've enjoyed a lot of California rolls lately which has helped. But hopefully now I'll be back on to normal foods for the most part:)
And I'm also feeling good enough to get back to the gym which is a huge relief - I've really missed running so it's nice to get back into it a bit - just not as intensly as before:)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend - Baby M's Grampa John is turning the big 60 this weekend - so look out Winnipeg I'm sure it will be a big weekend there!!!

Baby Bump
So I just checked out my little sister's baby blog (see link to the right!) and she looks just gorgeous with her little baby bump - I'm so jealous!! I feel like such a fraud right now becuase I have to tell everyone that I'm pregnant (frankly I think people may be sick of hearing about it!!) . . . but I have no real visible evidence (other than these pants tugging at my stomach right now) - I can't wait to be showing off the baby bump!!
As I write this post our poll is dead even - not exactly what I was hoping for, but could be worse. I'm hoping for a pink or blue nursery for Baby M - so any help from you voters would be much appreciated!!
Thanks to a tip from Marsha sounds like there is a great sale on all of Carter's baby clothes at one of the shops here so I think I'm headed on a shopping trip after work - a bit early but who am I to pass up a good sale?! And thanks to great tips from my dear sis-in-law Dorelle, Carter's is the only way to go for baby clothes!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! xoxo

12 Weeks!
I'm already getting in trouble for not posting more frequently - so I'll try to do better!!! Really, when have I ever had a hard time finding something to talk about?!
So it's official - I'm now over the 12 week mark . . . that combined with telling everyone our news has definitely made this the most exciting week yet!! Oh yeah and I'm starting to remember what it's like to feel normal, that also helps!
This morning when I got to work I got my first bundle of baby clothes, blankets etc (thanks Nicola!!) - it really made me realize this is all really happening and I couldn't be happier about it all.
Next on the list of things to do is register for the baby birthing and care classes - apparently I should have done this a couple months ago but for whatever reason I wasn't quite ready to jump into that so soon . . . but when I saw how tiny those baby clothes were it made me realize I'm going to be looking after something SO small so I better do everything I can to get ready for my little Baby M!
So far no real baby bump to speak of yet, but I have to admit my clothes are starting to tighten up so I'm sure it won't be long! I've spent a few mintues looking around Bermuda for maternity clothes and it's a good thing I have a few off-island shopping trips planned because there is next to nothing here. I'm off to Boston with Marsha in just over a week, so that will be the start of the maternity shopping for me . . . good thing I'm going with such an expert shopper - I think I'm going to need all the help I can get:)
We still have a couple of months before we have to decide if we want to find out if Baby M will be a little Miss or Mr . . . but it's been a constant topic of conversation (or should I say debate) for us!! Make sure you add you're vote to the poll so at least one of us will have a little extra ammunition on our side!!!
Hope all is well with all of you - missing all of you back home:)

The end of the worst trimester . . . I hope!!!
Welcome to our blog - Joel and I are so excited to have you along for this incredible journey! It has been a tough start but from what I hear that can only mean good things . . . I had such high hopes I would be one of those (lucky!!) ones who had minimal or no early pregnacy symptoms, however all the wishing in the world didn't seem to work. I just keep hoping that I've now paid my dues and that I'll get a little angel in return ;-)
Aside from that, it has been a few months of adjusting to the idea of becoming a Mom and Dad - a bit daunting really and I'm sure we really won't appreciate it until it actually happens but we are very excited!
I'm also thrilled to be going through this with my little sis Kayt who is about 5 weeks ahead of me . . . she's really been great - she keeps telling me what to expect as she also had a similar first trimester to me - poor girl . . . but misery does love company!! And of course Keli just can't wait to be the super-star babysitting Auntie . . . Kayt and I are already arguing over who gets her first!
So I've posted my first picture . . . just so I have something to remember what it's like to see my toes! I'll keep posting pic's periodically to keep you posted on my tummy's progress:)
That's it for now - stay tuned for more updates!!
