Halloween - Birthday Party!!

We decided this year to combine Kailie's 2nd birthday party with a Halloween party as we thought it would be fun for everyone to be all dressed up for Kailie's party.

We had sooooo much fun with all of Kailie's friends (and their Mummy's & Daddy's). Kailie was a sweet little Tinkerbell and enjoyed seeing what each one of her friends would be.

Kailie got some really fun pressies (spoiled rotten as usual) by all her little friends - this year we did things a bit differently in that Kailie didn't open her gifts at her party but over a couple of days when she could really enjoy each one. She was able to really take her time opening each gift and spend some time playing with each one before moving on to the next, and now she knows who gave her what and has had time to play with each one!

A great big thank you to all our friends who were able to make it!! We missed our family of course and all of our friends from home but hope you will enjoy the pictures.

Kailie also wanted to wish Auntie Keli and really big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Miss you and love you lots!!

Happy Halloween to everyone - hope you got lots of treats and not too many tricks ;-)

We started off our Halloween with some pumpkin carving. Alot of our friends with kids Kailie's age said that their kids had a great time digging out the pumpkin seeds, however this was about as far as Kailie would go into the pumpkin - our little Diva wanted no part of getting all 'gooey' - "Mummy do it" was about all she could say!

The final pumpkin-carving product.

It took forever - but Kailie got her Elmo cake made with lots of luv by Mummy (and lots of over-the-phone help from Auntie Kayt)!

We thought we better get a family picture with the cake before the birthday celebrations just in case the photo-op was missed:)

Our sweet little Tinkerbell!

Playing in the ball pit with Maya:)

Kailie and all the kiddo's LOVED the bouncy castle:)

Bouncy Castle Fun with Hannah!

Two little Tinkerbells bouncing!

We had just a perfect day for an outdoor party - a 'bit' warmer than the October 30 temps we would usually get a home:)

Tinkerbell was NOT happy about being taken away from all the 'play' for a family portrait!

A Pirate Family Portrait!

Happy Birthday Kailie-Bear!

Time to blow out the candle (with a bit of help from a couple of her friends)!

Some great pressie's from her friends capped off a very exciting day!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

Catching Up - Again!

As usual I'm playing catch up on my blogs - but this time I get to blame it on Hurricane Igor. We finally had our internet restored after 2+ weeks without it. It's amazing how reliant we are on the internet these day:)

So here is a re-cap of all the fun we had to finish off our summer this year . . .

- We were very happy to have Grampa John come for a visit, Kailie just loves the extra love and attention she gets when we have family come!

- Kailie went through her first Hurricane which included some creative thinking on Mommy & Daddy's part as we had to get through a few days without power. We were very fortunate that Igor ended up being fairly tame relative to what we were expecting.

- Shortly after the Hurricane, Kailie & Mommy headed to Philly for the weekend to meet up with Daddy who had been working there for a few days. We spent most of the weekend enjoying Sesame Place with all of Kailie's Sesame Street friends. It was their first Halloween weekend so there was a lot of tricks and treats to be had! Kailie especially liked the shows -because she was at bit of a distance from the characters . . . as you'll see below, once they got up close Kailie was no longer their biggest fan!

- The end of summer also saw the end of Kailie's swim lessons. She did so fantastic this year in swimming, she really loves any time she can get in the pool, hopefully our nice weather will hold out for a few more months so we can still get some swims in here and there:)

It was a fantastic summer (albeit hotter than we might have liked) but we are happy to see fall come with some cooler temperatures. The beginning of fall also meant another cousin for Kailie!!! Little Maya Rose Cyr was born early October and we are already counting the days until we get to meet this new sweet little bundle:)

For now though we have a big 2nd birthday coming up - the plans are in place for a costume Halloween Birthday party - and we can't wait!!

Here are a few pic's of the great time we had over the rest of the summer (and at the end, just a few of my favorite pic's of Kailie)!

As usual, our little Miss leading the way this was one night when we were out at the Lighthouse for dinner when Grampa John was here:)

Kailie loves her visitors - and talks about them for a long time after they leave.

Kailie showing off some of her swim moves to G'pa!

And yes - I promise she got up after this smiling and saying "Again??!!"

Kailie went for swimming lessons a couple times a week for most of the summer - it was a great way to beat some of the intense heat and we had loads of fun:)

Kailie's awesome back float!

This was the beach on the afternoon before Igor came through - we don't usually get waves anything like this in Bermuda.

Our water prep - earlier in the day we had dumped that entire bin full of water, all over the kitchen floor, so we decided the bathtub was a much better spot for it!

Heating Kailie's bottle over tea-lights in the fireplace!! This was in the thick of the storm when we couldn't get to the bbq yet! It actually worked really well!

Movie night for Mommy & Daddy:)

Daddy's bbq breakfast the next morning - it was delicious as you can see!

Sesame Place

If you look closely at each of the pictures, you'll see that Kailie doesn't exactly have her smiling face on . . . . we're such bad parents!!!! Once she was about a foot away and there was no threat of them coming any closer she was quite happy to blow kisses though:) (PS - Christy - thx for the tips on the collage)!

Big Birds Balloon ride - one of her favorites. After the first time, Mommy quickly learned that she should NOT go on any of spinney rides!

There were lots of area's just for kids 5 and under which she just loved.

The carousel - also another favorite:)

All these fun rides to choose from, but the play structure probably won the top marks! We couldn't get her off there!

Elmo's World Live!

Kailie watching Elmo - she just loved it!

As you can see - this Princess chair of Kailie's is one of her favorite spots:)

Dinner time for everyone:)
