Kailie & Andy

The older Kailie gets the more she loves her kitty Andy. Andy wasn't crazy about Kailie when we brought her home but has become fairly tolerant over the last 18 months.

Andy was one of Kailie's first words and she still gets super-excited any time she sees him - and although Andy is pretty patient, I can't say the he has the same excitement when he sees Kailie!!

For those of you wondering if we still have Nellie - yes but she has never even been in the same room as Kailie long enough to get a picture . . . that and there is no camera lens wide enough to get them in the same picture frame!! Kailie just enjoys Nellie from a distance!

Here is Kailie and her furry buddy Andy:)

Starts off with Kailie trying to get Andy's tail that he keeps movin' and teasing her with:)

Then the chase is on!

She's getting pretty quick and can usually close the gap . . .

Curtain-hiding will not deter her!

Finally got that tail!!!

After rescuing a crying Andy - and a quick reminder for Kailie to be more gentle - she figures it out and peace is restored!

18 Months & A Visit From Grammie!

Still some a few catch-up blogs to come - but I need to keep up on the current stuff too:)

I've posted our latest and greatest Teddy Bear pic on the side bar - Kailie is now making her big Teddy bear start to look not-so-big anymore! Who knew so much could change in 18 short months!! Kailie recently had her 18 month check up and it went excellent. She is still at the top of the charts for her weight (just over 30lbs), height (34") and head circumference (big!) - 97% percentile for all 3 . . . and while Mom had her concerns (let’s just say that it's probably for the best they don't do a 'tummy circumference' measurement!!!) the Dr. said she was proportionate which was excellent! He thought she was such a healthy little girl who was doing fantastic in all the developmental areas. Mommy was very entertained as Daddy took every opportunity he could to show Kailie's Dr. how much Kailie could say and do ;-)

At this 18 month mark we were lucky to have Grammie Kim come for a visit. Kailie just loves it when people make the big long trip to Bermuda to see her as it's tons of fun without the hassle of the trip (ok - it might be Mommy and Daddy who really love it)! We had a great visit and below are a few pics – the first few are from out 18 month ‘photo-shoot’ and then there are the pictures from Grammie Kim’s visit (thx Mom for sharing some of your pic’s with me).

Having sooooo much fun!

Kailie and her Teddy-Buddy:)

A Dragon-Towel from Mom's friend Bob - she loved it and we finally had to hide it from her because she insisted on wearing it all the time!

Cutie-pie!

This is a sweater that Grammie sent for Kailie a long time ago - that now fits her perfectly and looks just adorable on her:)

Kailie is headed out the door with Mommy's shoes and keys . . . off for a drive . . . ?!

Lovin' the new toys from Grammie!

Vancouver 2010 Olympics

After almost a year and a half of planning in February we headed to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics!! We went with the Fultons and the Wregget's and had a fantastic time.

A few highlights . . .

- There was lots of hockey (CDA/US, CDA/Russia) and two of our crew saw the gold medal game where the Cdn men brought home the gold!! At the CDA/US game I was all smiles despite the Canadian loss as my new BFF - Joe Sakic - took the time to sign my jersey!!!

- We also saw some curling, speed skating, ski jumping - all of which were very cool!

- JM and I went to see the Ladies long program in figure skating. I just adored Elizabeth Manley when I was little and very clearly remember her at the '88 Calgary Olympics - so getting to see Joannie Rochette take home a bronze despite everything she went through was a pretty amazing moment to be a part of!

- We stayed at a gorgeous place just between Vancouver and Whistler, it had incredible views and lots of space for all of us and our kiddo's. The man who rented it to us was one of the torch bearers too and was a great ambassador for Vancouver and really helped us have a great experience.

- Our only little hiccup was that Kailie got quite sick while we were there. When we got home we found out she had pneumonia:( My sweet girl is usually so happy and full of energy so it was so hard for us to watch her get so sick. We did take her to a doctor in Vancouver but he wasn't much help at all - we were pretty happy to get her back home and to her doctor who got her feeling better in no time, which was quite a relief for Mom and Dad. Despite this though she was a little trouper, kept a smile on her face and really enjoyed the time she had with her cousins!

It really was such an incredible experience being part of something so monumental for Canada. Vancouver really did such a great job and we couldn't not have been more proud to be Canadian that week!

Here are a few pic's of our time there.

The Fultons at a curling event.

Always smiling - even though she was sick. Christy - do you recognize the PJ's?! They fit her just in time for the Olympics and were perfect - thanks so much!

Kailie & Dad at the Men's ski jumping at Cypress Mtn.

Taking a little break to warm up:)

On our way at Cypress.

All geared up!

This was on our patio where we stayed - it was sooo beautiful! Notice the GREEN grass!! Unless you were up at Cypress or Whistler, there was no snow to be seen!

Our little future Olympians!! The kiddo's had a great time together:)

Kailie practicing her gymnastics routine with Uncle Tyler - maybe summer Olympics . . . ?!

Auntie Dorelle enjoying some down time with Kailie, Mae and Henry

Joannie Rochette receiving her bronze medal - everyone LOVED her!! And what a star she was:)

It was always amazing to see Canadian flag go up!

Lil' Cutie :)

Just a few random pic's of Kailie I wanted to share.

Even though the pictures below are still part of my catch up blogs - it is Mother's Day today and I wanted to wish all the Mom's / Mommies / 2nd Mom's / Gram's / Grammies / Grama's / GG's / Nan's etc etc out there a fantastic Mother's Day. We are so blessed to have so many of these fantastic women in our lives - so be sure to celebrate you today!!

Thank you Gram Phyllis for making me this beautiful sweater - and you started even before I was born, how did you know it would look so good on me!! I've worn it soooo much and it looks so nice with everything (you'll see me wearing it in a lot of my pictures)! It is so special and will be a keepsake that I'll keep forever:)

One of the girls Joel works with gave him this bike helmet for Kailie - she wouldn't take it off for about 2 days!!! It was so funny!

Such a happy little monkey:)

Taking her spot for our Sunday football fix ;-)

Christmas 2009

Almost 5 months behind - but better late than never!!
Here are a few pic's of our Christmas in Bermuda. We of course were very sad to not make it home this year for Christmas, but we really have the most wonderful 'Bermuda Family' here that we were lucky enough to have over to our house and we really had a lovely Christmas!

Our first try at a real tree!

Kailie has lots of fun with all her pressies!! Here she's diving right into some felts from Grama & Papa:)

Best gift ever:)

The 'little' 30lb turkey JM brought home for Christmas Dinner!

Marsha's beautiful Christmas dessert - and yes, it was as yummy as it looks!!

Our first Christmas playing the host!

I thought my table turned out looking pretty good in the above pictures - but it really looked that much better when everyone was sitting around it :)

Cameron & Brooke Christmas evening.

More Christmas morning fun!

A pressie from Dad to Mum - that Kailie just had to try on!

Kailie was a great little helper!

1/2 way ready for church on Christmas Eve . . . . Daddy thinks she should have a wrestling nickname now!!

Christmas Eve gift she got to open.

A few days before Christmas Santa came to see some of the kids - most of them warmed up but Kailie was never really too sure . . . maybe next year!

One of my most favorite pics:)

While she was a great help un-wrapping - she wasn't quite to helpful when it came time to take the tree down!!
