Late as usual but never forgotten - despite all the recent excitement around Kailie's birthday we also celebrated our little man Kolton turning 4 months!
4 months really isn't a very long stretch of time, however it feels like Kolton has been with us forever and of course we wouldn't have it any other way:) He continues to be a super happy kid, who has recently learned to squeal like a helium balloon!! It's pretty funny and he can go on for a long time like that.
We did have one rough stretch with Kolton over the last month - we're still not sure what happened but we had about a week of no sleep, not very good nursing and some serious freaking out. Something was definitely up and we were very concerned as these outrageous crying fits and sleepless nights were so out of character for him. We had a few trips to the Dr. as well as an ultrasound, however nothing major showed up which we were very thankful for. His Dr. did put him back on the Zantac he was taking when he was first born and he did seem to come around so maybe that was it. The important part is that he did settle down and has almost gone back to his old (long) sleeps! We got about 8 hours last night for the first time since he wasn't well - each night gets a bit longer so we're well on our way:)
Despite having a rough stretch our little man continues to pack on the pounds! At his 4 month Dr. appt he weighed 18lbs and was 26" tall - he continues to be in the 95th percentile for weight and around the 75th for height:)
We are just so in love with our baby and feel so blessed to have him in our family. His 4 month picture with Mr. Bear is posted on the sidebar :)

3 YEARS OLD!
What fun it is to be a kid and celebrating a birthday - it's never just one day it seems that the younger you are the longer the celebrations!!!
We've had a great time celebrating with Kailie. On the day before Halloween we had her friends over for a Halloween-Birthday-Bouncy-Costume-Party and it was SO much fun. It poured rain all morning so we were pretty worried but just as Kailie's guests started to arrive the rain cleared up and we managed a great mostly-outdoor party! The bouncy castle was a bit of a let down as it wouldn't quite inflate enough but what was lost here was gained with a bubble machine - the kids went crazy!!!!
Then in between her birthday party and her actual birthday was Halloween of course - Kailie hooked up with her good pal Brooke and the two girls had a great time Trick or Treating . . . until we got rained out (seeing a theme here?!). I think Kailie thought Halloween was all part of the birthday celebrations!
Today on her actual birthday (with many evenings of presents in between!) we had a special celebration for her at school. Mummy & Daddy both made an appearance with pizza and cupcakes for everyone - there was a lot of singing and attention given to Kailie and she LOVED every minute of it!! Then of course we had a nice family birthday dinner with our big girl to round off the celebrations:)
It's been an incredible 3 years. There were many momentous moments on this day 3 years ago but the one that stands out for me was Kailie and I sitting in a rocking chair at the hospital and I was just so overwhelmed with happiness that I just cried and cried. I knew then I was in for a lifetime of happiness like I had never experienced and my baby girl hasn't let me down - in fact it's been a better journey than I could have ever imagined!! There are challenging moments of course and I trust there will be more, but all those tough moments are quickly forgotten when I think of the blessing and total joy that Kailie has been in our life. I'm so proud of my sweet baby girl who has blossomed into a sweet bubbly loving little 3 year old - what a lucky Mummy I am:)
Here are all sorts of birthday pic's - and some miscellaneous October pictures thrown in . . .
At Kailie's school they celebrated International Day rather than Halloween - here's our little Native American Bermuda Girl!
She looks a bit grumpy in this picture - and I don't really blame her - it was a super hot day and the kids were on a parade up and down a very big hill! It was still very cute to see all of them all dressed up.
Now onto Birthday Stuff:) My plan for Kailie's cake was a dress for Dora - however my dear husband was a bit too quick to point out that it looks like Dora is stuck in the Gooey Guyzer, when Kailie confirmed this sentiment I decided just to go with it - so it became the Gooey Guyzer Cake!!
I should really stop subjecting my kids to me making their cakes as I'm even less artistic than most accountants, however Kailie loved it and was very excited about her cake and that was enough for me:)
My poor second child!! This is where he was put while we scrambled around to get ready for Kailie's birthday party - I guess he finally got sick of waiting for someone to put him down in his bed for a nap!!
The calm before the storm!
Let the party begin!
Super-Grover kept everyone well fed!
Check out this face!! Kailie just LOVED it when everyone sang to her - it was so sweet to watch - and blowing out the candles was a close second, we were hardly finished singing and those 3 candles were OUT!
Family Pic:)
The Burkes got into the spirit too!
Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!
Super Grover, Oscar, Cookie . . . and a Lil Pumpkin!
Our littlest Treat :)
This is what happens to Miss Cookie when she doesn't get a nap!! Too much fun at school so she needed a little power nap before we hit the streets for Trick or Treating.

Green Meadows Farm, Florida - March 2011
As promised here are the pictures of the farm we visited in Florida. This really was such a highlight for us on this trip to Florida as it gave Kailie some very up close time with some animals, there were no line ups, and the whole morning was just some perfect family time spent on a beautiful day!
I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Orlando area with small kids, it's certainly somewhere we'll be making a return visit to:)
First stop on the tour was to milk "Bessie" - Kailie jumped at the opportunity and was the first one to give it a try!
No fear of the cow at all!
Look closely - this is a Zorse!!
Right in with the sheep:)
Baby ducklings!
Baby chicks - just a few days old.

These different breed of baby goats were SO SO cute - we would have taken one home if we could have ;-)
