My Little Angel . . . . in a Timeout . . . . ?!

Just a couple of weeks ago I was mentally drafting a posting for our blog about how I was beginning to think that Kailie was just at the most perfect age! We really have been enjoying her so much now that she is communicating so well, is becoming so independent, and is just generally a total joy to be around . . . . .

. . . . and then this week happened! I'm not sure if it's because I've been around home a bit more as Grace is away so Mummy is working 1/2 days . . . . or if she's just been talking on the phone to her cousin Aisa more ~ just kidding Kayt ;-) ~ . . . . or if she's just hitting her stride as a 2-year old, but whatever the reason she has decided to start testing her boundaries!

To be honest most of the day goes pretty good and she is that little angel we just adore - the battle really kicks into gear at bed time, and then everything from getting into pjs, to brushing teeth, going potty and crawling into bed is an all out, throw herself on the floor screaming battle!! After a very long day and being 23 weeks pregnant Mummy just wants to throw herself on the floor right beside her!

So yesterday we decided it was time to change our approach and that it was time to get 'tough' - so we finally introduced time-outs. The first few times were a bit challenging as she actually choose the time-out option . . . Mummy: Kailie do you want a time out or do you want to put your pj's on and read a book? Kailie: Time out please! . . . However after a few trips to the time-out on her own she is finally getting the hang of it and so far it really seems to be working!

Hopefully this will keep up, the WWF wrestling matches into pj's is getting a bit old and the time out seemed to work a whole lot better. After a minute or so of time on her own (and her letting us know quite loudly that she wasn't impressed) pj's went on with no issue:)

It seems that things are always changing with these little ones, it sure keeps us on our toes but despite some of the challenges I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!

oh poor Kandis!! I can understand and you have my heart felt sympathy! And I think you can blame the Wests for the attitude cause Kailie sounds just like her cousin Alex ;). Love reading your blog, hope to see you all soon <3
